Introduction
Thank you for using Smart Hide Launcher. This article briefly highlights the main updates in version 1.8.0. This release focuses on enabling Smart Hide Launcher to accept and assist with widget placement requests initiated by apps, and supporting shortcut display when long-pressing app icons. Adding widgets is provided by each app, and whether placement is possible depends on support from both the app and the home app. The traditional flow (App list → Widgets list → Place) remains available.
Feature overview
・Accept app-initiated widget placement: when an app that provides widgets suggests adding one to the user, Smart Hide Launcher accepts the request and assists with the placement flow. Support depends on both the app and the home app.
・Long-press shortcut display on app icons: long-pressing an app icon shows the shortcuts provided by the app, allowing quick access to specific features.
How to use (Quick)
As before, widgets can be added via the App list → Widgets list → Place flow. For apps that support the new behavior, choosing Add widget from the app's prompt will cause Smart Hide Launcher to assist with placement.
