Smart Hide Launcher has a new name: Hitoma Launcher.
The idea behind it is simple: only the apps you need.
The previous name focused on hiding apps. What I want to build is a place where you can choose the apps that matter to you and shape how they appear. Setting display periods is one way to do that.
Hitoma takes its name from the Japanese word for a room.
Like a room arranged around the things you value, Hitoma is designed to give your apps space. That idea guides the way I build the app.
The home screen is where this idea comes together most clearly. It also guides the app list and the features I build next.
Recent improvements
Alongside the new name, here are some of the improvements I have been working on:
- Simplified display settings to one rule per app and fixed newly added rules not appearing in the settings list.
- Restored the last home page you visited and added a menu when you touch and hold the home screen.
- Fixed app-list reloads and the widget list closing when the keyboard opens or closes during search.
- Added safeguards against crashes when a widget's setup screen cannot open or an app supplies an unusually large image.
For existing users
Hitoma Launcher is the same app you already use. The name and icon have changed, but you do not need to reinstall it. Keep using it through the normal app update.
The rename does not reset your current home layout or settings. Your apps and display rules come with you into your own Hitoma.
